Dr. Bandyopadhyay is a senior adviser with International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD) for their India Project. He has been serving as an Associate Professor at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) University till October 2016. In the past, Dr Bandyopadhyay has served as a member of the sub-group on transport sector formed by Government of India for providing inputs to the India Chapter of the Energy Technology Perspectives 2010, brought out by the IEA; as a columnist on energy sector with the Financial Express (a leading financial daily in India) from 2009 to 2011; as a visiting faculty with the United Nations University (UNU-IIST); as a visiting scholar with the Asian Growth Institute (AGI), Japan under the aegis of the Japanese Society of Promotion of Science (JSPS); and as a low carbon finance specialist for an Asian Development Bank (ADB) project on low carbon transport in India, among others.
