Coverage of the Fourth WTO Ministerial Conference in Doha
ICTSD
Activities In Doha
As
during the past three WTO Ministerial Conferences in Singapore,
Geneva and Seattle,
ICTSD has provided its audiences with tools for a better understanding
of the issues at the crossroad between trade and sustainable development
in the lead-up, duration, and aftermath of the WTO Ministerial.
To this end, ICTSD has set the following services:
BRIDGES Daily Coverage
Concerning the daily coverage of the Conference, printed and electronic
BRIDGES daily updates has been delivered in English,
Spanish,
French
and German.
The updates have been distributed both on-site to governmental and
NGO delegates, and electronically through the BRIDGES Weekly mailing
lists. The briefings have also been posted on the ICTSD,
Futuro Latinoamericano and GermanWatch
websites as soon as they were available. Printed collections will
later be distributed to libraries and research centres around the
world.

BRIDGES
Monthly Review
The current (October) Special Pre-Doha Ministerial Issue of BRIDGES
Monthly has been posted on the ICTSD website. The Post-Doha
November edition also provides an in-depth analysis of the outcomes
at the Ministerial Conference.
Dialogues
ICTSD also convenied dialogues/roundtables on trade and environment
(as part of its Southern Agenda project) and on intellectual property
rights (IPRs) and development.
Research Documentation and Support Services
Previous issues of BRIDGES Monthly and Weekly and other ICTSD printed
material (IPRS and development; transparency and public participation
series; all available at: http://www.ictsd.org/pubs/index.htm)
were distributed on-site

of other groups. Moreover, the website has collected useful
information regarding practical and logistical matters in the
lead-up to Doha. A page of links
to relevant actors, including trade officials, Intergovernamental
Organisations (IGOs), and NGOs actively following the preparation
of the Ministerial is also available.
