Jorge Larson Guerra


Jorge Larson Guerra is a biologist from Mexico’s National University and has been collaborating with Mexico’s National Biodiversity Commission since 1992. He was a member of the Mexican delegations to the CBD Cartagena Protocol negotiations and has participated in biodiversity and intellectual property fora such as CBD Article 8(j) working groups and the WIPO Intergovernmental Committee. Having studied intensively local and traditional knowledge and the possible roles of intellectual property, he is now working on the use of geographical and biological information in the labeling of rural products.
