Ricardo Paredes is a Partner at METIS GAIA, specialized in Trade and Public Administration and Policy topics.
He has been Manager of Economic Studies and Business Consultancy at the Foreign Trade Society of Peru (COMEXPERU) for over five years. His main responsibilities included preparing public policy proposals related to foreign trade, economics, trade negotiations, and the strategies to boost them, as well as preparing trade intelligence analyses and information for its associates. Moreover, he worked as editor for COMEXPERU’s publications and represented this institution and its associates before different boards of directors and advisory committees of several public entities.
He has been part-time professor of Universidad del Pacífico’s Faculty of Economics in the Master of International Business Administration, of Lima University’s Faculty of Business, of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru’s Master in International Economic Law, and of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences’ Master in Corporate Law.
He has also been external consultant to the IADB, the OECD and the ICTSD in projects related to foreign trade and trade negotiations.
He has been Coordinator of WTO topics at the Vice-Ministry of Foreign Trade, as well as part of the Peruvian negotiation team in the negotiation process between Peru and the United States.
Ricardo Paredes holds a Master in Public Administration and International Development from Harvard University and graduated in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico (Peru’s top Economics university).
