SummaryClimate change will affect the agricultural sector in two ways. First, in terms of what types of crops are grown, traded and how they are traded. Secondly through new regulations imposing new standards and costs. This report analyses adaptation and mitigation options in the agricultural sector related to both effects of climate change in developing countries, including climate change proofing current production modes, diversifying into new products, and diversifying into new services. The authors further highlight the opportunities for climate change financing and existing trade facilitation mechanisms, such as Aid for Trade, to work together to address the challenges of climate change.
