WTO MC10 (Nairobi 2015)
Since the first WTO Ministerial Conference held in 2006 in Singapore, ICTSD has taken an active role in providing stakeholders with accurate reporting and analysis in the lead-up, duration, and aftermath of these ministerial-level negotiation sessions.
The WTO's biennial Ministerial Conference was held in Africa for the first time in 2015. Deliberations at MC10 in Nairobi yielded some important substantive decisions but also made clear that the "post-Nairobi" landscape for the global trade body both as an institution and a negotiating forum was set to evolve. As in all past ministerial conferences, Bridges produced an in-depth Negotiation Briefing ahead of the ministerial and reporters were on-site covering the negotiations as they unfolded. ICTSD also convened the Nairobi Trade and Sustainable Development Symposium held alongside the ministerial conference.
